And time goes by

How on earth is it 2 weeks since my last post!!!! and how is elephanty not finished yet? hmmmmmmm I only have his wee feet to do and his tusks so i should be able to do that in a few hours really - think i will get stuck into that tomorrow cos i really want to see him finished :) 


I also need to get stuck into getting ted finished - i have to do some sewing on of features and i've been avoiding that - its not that its difficult i just can't think what kind of features i want him to have at the minute.


As i have finished the machine sewing bit of ted i have now started another project :0)  Its a patchwork bag that i am trying to do now - i've never done any patchwork before so finding that interesting - so much for not starting anything more LOL! 


I must get some pics sorted even just of the half finished things hehehehe hopefully will spur me on to get stuck in to them again. :) 

And the list goes on

Well the elephant is coming on nicely: body, head, trunk, 3 legs and 1 ear all completed so far.  Just cast on the stitches for leg number 4 so should get that done by later tonight.  I decided against the stripy legs in the end but am thinking about some sort of addition - not sure yet so will see how it goes.


Apart from that I do have many bits and bobs on the go - do all crafters do the whole starting about 50 things at once thing? LOL


So i thought i would start and make a list of some of my half finished projects in the hope that i will get around to finishing them :) 


At the minute i can think of the following half finished things


1.  The elephant obviously
2.  Sailor Ted
3.  Cord Ted
4.  Multi coloured jacket
5.  Aran cardie
6.  latch hook rug
7.  crocheted bags for life - 2 of these
8.  paper waste basket
9.  Red crochet Top


I am sure there will be more to add once i go plundering in the craft boxes! 


For now am concentrating on the elephant - i will get that finished before moving on (or should that be back) to other things!

Remember Remember the first of November

Ok so its not the 1st of November ......and I know the poem is about the 5th November, but somehow the title seemed to fit this, the first post in my craft diary. 


It was yesterday that I decided to start knitting an elephant, well a purple elephant to be more precise! It is of course not a full sized elephant even though it is based on a pattern for "big jumbo".  It is actually turning out to be bigger than i was expecting it to be going by the size of the body which i have just finished a few minutes ago.  I have just been able to cover my entire head with the body - don't ask me why i put it over my head - it just seemed like a good measurement!!! While i'm at it don't ask me why its purple either - it just seemed right ;)  


To be honest there is probably going to be little in this blog that has a reason for being a certain way - I very much tend to just go with my impulses when crafting and see how it turns out.  


So the body is done, next comes the legs.  Now will i do them purple as well? I have a strange desire to do them with stripes but not decided on the colours yet.  I am away to plunder through my wool stash to see what i come up with :)  


Will add some photos later too i think so you can see how i am getting on....
